My Experience
During my lengthy experience as an editor, writer, and advice columnist, I have covered nearly every type of computer equipment, from 396ZX to 64-core CPUs. I worked on the pioneering, massive Computer Shopper magazine (and later its digital version), also known as the phone directory for PC purchasers and the enemy of every mail carrier, for over a quarter century. I was the editor-in-chief of Computer Shopper for its final nine years, following which the majority of its digital material was absorbed by picbestlaptops and PCMag. I also temporarily worked as the editor-in-chief of the renowned hard-core technology website Tom's Hardware.During that period, I've assembled and disassembled enough desktop computers to outfit an entire city block with internet cafés. Under race circumstances, I've assembled computers from bare-board to booting in less than five minutes. In the beginning of my career, I edited scholarly scientific books and "Dummies"-style computer guidebooks for Brady Books (now, BradyGames). I am a lifelong New Yorker, a graduate of the journalism department at New York University, and a member of Phi Beta Kappa. My Areas of CompetenceLaptop and desktop PCs
